Tattoo Idea

November 2, 2005 / by DiaryOfABeachBum

I thought I would go ahead and post this to let you guys know what I have in mind.

The tattoo would be on my right hand and it would be in the basic shape of a "slave bracelet". (Which I have posted examples of in my Photos) The design would be a simple vine pattern, nothing too frilly or flowery. If it could possibly be done, I wouldn't mind having some scripture in it.

What do you guys think?

Really think this through Jessica. I have a friend that got some tattoos put on her knuckles and she now has Hepatitis for the rest of her life. She had to quit work and take early disability. She was real sick for about two years and the doctor told her that the medicine that they were giving her would make her feel worse. He also told her but, if we don't do something then the hepatitis is going to destroy your liver and you won't live. Maybe I'm not a good one to ask but, her and others I have heard the same thing happening too. I think that it was Pamela Anderson. Some celebrity. To me it is just not worth the risk of disabling yourself for life or maybe even losing your life. It is the same kind of hepatitis that Naomi Judd has and there is no cure. You just have to take this medicine and hope that you will go into remission. Not meaning to scare you just want you to really think about this very hard. Because, Naomi, Pamela Anderson, and my friend's the disease laid dormat in their bodies for years before it showed up. These things still happen today. These people all had the disease and didn't know it until it really manifested itself and made them so sick that they couldn't go on. Sorry, I took up so much of your space. Just a precaution. You are so pretty and I don't want to see your or anyone go down with this disease.

Jenn, I really do appreiciate your concern! And it is not something I am just jumping into. I will do as much research as I can and make sure I find a safe, reliable tattoo artist.

From what all I have read, the risk of contracting Hepatitis from a tattoo has been exagerrated. Statisitcs from CDC have shown that you have a far greater chance of getting it from a dentist than a tattooartist, even though your chances are extremely slim for either.

Once again, I do appreciate your concern and if there is any information you would like to pass along to me...feel free!

Should I keep thinking about modifications to the design I sent to you? I like today's, simpler version better, but it's yours.
